A Train Accident Scene

During the last political dispensation, the federal government led by former President Goodluck Jonathan had expended huge amount of money running into billions of naira on revamping the rail transportation.
But instead of the rail transportation to experience a boost despite the huge sum of money invested on it, things have not being any better for the
Nigerian railway system.

This afternoon, July 20, a train travelling to the far North derailed in Jaji area of Kaduna State and had an accident. The train fell on its side and fortunately no lives were lost.

And because of the large number of coaches attached to a train, casualties figure in a train accident is always many but with the one that had an accident in Jaji, no live was lost.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation got a lot of boost especially towards the end of President Jonathan regime with the government boasting that the rail transport system is now better.

Nollywood star actress Mercy Johnson also gave the railway transportation a commendation when she shared her experience in the air-conditioned train she travelled in.
