Ekweremadu retains Deputy Senate President seat

Immediate past Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has retained his seat.
Ekweremadu, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated
Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume of All Progressives Congress (APC) in an election conducted on the floor of House on Tuesday.
He polled 54 votes as against Ndume’s 20 votes.

Former Senate President, David Mark was also elected as the Senate Leader.
